Three NYC-based artists have launched Scout It Out, an easy-to-use, mobile friendly, online marketplace providing real-time booking of creative arts venues. After a year of testing a beta version, the site is fully functional, with access to nearly 100 unique spaces.
WHO WE ARE:
Kendra Curtis, CEO, former Technology Manager at Google, Inc. and producer
Noel Neeb, COO, international theater director and producer
Rachel McKinney, CMO, NYC actress and producer
WHAT WE DO:
“As artists ourselves, we’ve experienced first-hand the frustrations of finding performance venues,” shared Neeb. “Just checking availability takes dozens of phone calls and emails.”
“Scout It Out is our solution,” stated Curtis. “We’ve created an easy-to-use interface where you can ‘List a Space’ and ‘Find a Space.'”
“There are plenty of great spaces that go underutilized,” noted McKinney. “So we created a site where merchants can share their availability, price, and photos of their spaces all in one location.”
WHO CAN BENEFIT:
Theatre and arts producers, companies, teachers, film professionals, artists and anyone looking for space in the city to present or create work. Additionally, those who have space to offer who need a reliable way to book their space.
“We had a record-breaking winter season, which traditionally is a slow time of year,” says Bridget Dunigan, Theater Manager of The Players Theatre. “Within two days of using Scout It Out, we signed up two new major clients who now rent with us on a continual basis.”
